“Utopia is that which is nowhere and never – but who is interested in nowhere and never, who is interested in yearnings that only dream of fulfilment? The point of the matter is something else: 1. Literature does not want to be nowhere and never, but always and everywhere. And also: 2. Music does not want to be nowhere and never but here and now. Music is the absolute art of time. The encounter between these two ways of working, the always and everywhere of text and the here and now of music, can cause the kind of convulsive beauty that other people perhaps get from nowhere and never fantasies.” Dietmar Dath

The electronica rock improvisation ghosts from the Kammerflimmer Kollektief have formed a band with the hyper-productive “thought and text generator” Dietmar Dath. In the emerging songs the music speaks and the texts sound alternately; sometimes it’s the other way round. They complain till they’re blue in the face about computer firms, lull all insane people to sleep with humming consolation, take a short spell in the fridge disco, clap their hands in unison, set a cherry on fire, seduce Dieter Bohlen after having deliberately steeped him in tea and rum, honour the football goddess and finally put love to bed on a musical lawn. The songs rub up so softly against our rough world that their latent lucidity of gaze is only gradually perceptible.
